Profile

For decades, Lucullus has offered both the casual collector and serious connoisseur a special source for antique furnishings and decorations.

Whether they come from an elegant manor house or practical bistro, our playfully arranged antiques are the perfect complements to the grand pursuits of dining, cooking, and imbibing.

Walking through our two shops in New Orleans and Breaux Bridge, you are as likely to find a bread board as an 18th century dining table, fine crystal champagne flutes as sturdy hand blown bar glasses.  Drawers full of fine silver share space with hand forged kitchen utensils.  If your taste is for a finely crafted Louis XVI commode, a rustic grape gathering basket, or luxurious lit de repos, you will probably find it here.

Because of its unique focus on fine culinary antiques, Lucullus has drawn the interest of the national and international media.

The proprietor, Patrick Dunne, is the author of the book, The Epicurean Collector (Bullfinch Press/Little, Brown and Co., 2002).

Located on Chartres Street, a destination for luxury goods for nearly 200 years, Lucullus is in the heart of the old French Quarter, close to Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral.  The store occupies a charming early 19th century building that opens onto a lush original courtyard.

We have settled into our Breaux Bridge shop, between the thriving cities of Baton Rouge and Lafayette.  Located in the heart of Acadiana on the banks of the Bayou Teche, we are not far from where Longfellow placed his epic poem, EvangelineLucullus à Pont Breaux is situated on rue Principale (Main Street) in one of the charming buildings of the town’s center.  Breaux Bridge has regional eateries, quaint accommodations, and is near many historical, cultural, and natural points of interest.

We encourage our dear friends near and far to join us for some Southern hospitality, in town and in the country.  Please review our Services, Gallery, Publications, and Communiqués sections for further information.
